Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant
Tool & Instrument Tracking
Located in Lusby, Maryland, along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay, Exelon’s Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant services nearly 1,000,000 homes in its local region, and its two nuclear reactors produce 1,756 megawatts of zero-emissions energy. By their very nature, nuclear power plants require near-perfect quality assurance, productivity, and security, and Calvert Cliffs was no exception. The plant needed a new tracking enterprise for the technical instruments used by its employees for maintenance work.
We installed an RFID system along with our RMS platform to track nearly 3,000 tools and instruments for over 100 employees at the plant. Our system, still in use today, auto-calculates certificate dates and automatically assigns tools to workers, resulting in accurate and efficient quality assurance and productivity procedures for the power plant.
