Locations

Home » Simplicity RMS » Locations

Locations are the backbone of your tracking system. We create locations with Simplicity RMS in three ways:

  1. Physical locations
  2. Users in the system
  3. People

Records are checked out to a physical location or person and assigned a due date and reason code, much like your local library.

Sometimes it’s necessary to use an existing object in the database as a location. When creating a location, you have the option to assign an object type and an object ID. For example, this can assign a user as a location in the system. Items can then be checked out directly to users. This is the main feature of Simplicity RMS Essentials.

You will need the object type and ID to add an existing object as a location. The ID can be obtained using the View button for that object type. Copy and paste the object ID into the form used to add locations.

Barcode and RFID values can be assigned to locations. This feature is used with our workflow builder to control access and check in to a location in our mobile app. View a record in the main record display to retrieve its barcode or RFID tag.
